Carrillo has provided custom and prototype connecting rods to virtually every major automotive business, most notably to the high performance and speed shop end of the market. In addition to the uncompromised, tried and trued Carrillo H-Beam Connecting Rods, Carrillo has also introduced a newly designed "Pro-A" series for those applications that require a lighter duty component.

So what's the difference between H-Beam and Pro-Aconnecting rods?

The difference lies in the manufacturing process. All Carrillo rods are manufactured in San Clemente, California. Both rods start out with the same forging; a propriety chrome/nickel/vanadium alloy, denoted as Carrilloloy, a steel mixture. The difference is that the Pro-A rods require approximately 20% less machine time to produce. Added to this, the Pro-A rods are manufactured in large quantities to make it more cost effective. The down side to this is a limited number of part numbers, restricted to the most popular of the Carrillo products.
All this helps keep the cost of the Pro-A series rods down.
